“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”
My work as a therapist is grounded in a belief that healing and transformation are possible. Therapy allowed me to step into the fullness of life after trauma, and now I find purpose in partnering with others as they do the same.
At a very young age, I came to understand people often carry wounds that shape their lives in profound ways. I witnessed how generational trauma, left untreated, could cause more pain, fragmentation, and lasting suffering. As a deeply sensitive child, I was met with a parent who often told me they didn’t have the capacity to love me. I wrestled with my sense of worth and belonging from as early as I can remember.
It took years of my own intensive work, including EMDR therapy, to unravel the beliefs I adopted as my own. Through that process, I was able to connect to the truest version of myself - the person who can create safety for herself, speak with clarity, move with confidence, and freely connect with others. Diving into my own trauma work was a significant emotional investment, but a very intentional one. I had dreams of stepping into freedom and forming a life filled with love.
By luck or fate, I’m grateful to have met a partner who held a similar intention, and we committed to a forever together. The journey to growing our family quickly became the most formative experience of our marriage. When we experienced multiple miscarriages, we leaned on each other in ways we never had before. I intimately came to know grief, feeling the fullness of love I had for children I never got to meet and dreams of them that will never come to fruition.
As our hearts began to mend, through therapy and an incredible community, we welcomed a beautiful baby girl into our family. She is an absolute treasure, and every moment with her feels like a gift. While her presence didn’t erase my grief, she’s expanded my world in so many ways. I now have a greater capacity to sit with others in the middle of their heartache, holding the delicate blend of grief and hope.
I share these parts of my story because I believe therapy is incredibly relational. Greater than any intervention or modality, the therapeutic relationship shapes our work together. With this in mind, I intend to bring my authentic self into the room and gently invite you to bring yours. In turn, I will offer curiosity for the messaging you’ve received about your worth, meet the strategies you’ve developed to keep you safe with compassion, and welcome a chance to try something new. My greatest hope is to support you in creating the life you desire - stepping out of suffering and into empowerment, wholeness, and connection.
I specialize in working with clients who are seeking to reconnect with their identity after experiences that may have left them feeling separated from themselves.
I work with survivors of relational and sexual trauma, including intimate partner violence. These experiences can shake one’s world, raising questions about safety, identity, and belonging.
Additionally, I have a heart for those navigating reproductive trauma - whether that be infertility, loss, complicated birth, or postpartum challenges. There is a unique complexity to the grief carried in these experiences. I support clients in honoring what’s been lost and navigating what continues to unfold, while tenderly making space for the parts of themselves that feel changed, uncertain, or still becoming.
I incorporate a variety of modalities in support of holistic and individualized care for each client. My therapeutic approach is rooted in feminist therapy, which centers empowerment, agency, and choice. I facilitate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to target distressing memories, helping you process what arises and integrate a new adaptive understanding to bring you closer to your true self. Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) assists in exploring how the past impacts your present, especially early relationships, fostering self-awareness. I incorporate somatic and mindfulness practices to support embodiment and the practice of being present.
I understand getting started in this work is an act of immense bravery. Therapy asks us to bring our most tender and honest selves into the room, sometimes revisiting painful memories or parts of ourselves we would rather not face. I hold that vulnerability with care. My presence in the therapy room is warm, authentic, and attuned. If you’re ready to take the first step in the road back to yourself, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
